Care Guide

Caring for our creations

Washing

Quite often chopping boards and other wooden homeware items can start to look a little tired before their time. One of the most important ways you can avoid accelerated ageing of our products is to only use a very mild detergent and wipe the surface gently using warm water.

Our products are not dishwasher safe and should never be soaked in water as wood absorbs water, softening, cracking and moulding.

Even with a hardwood product, try to avoid cutting into the wood or using a scourer on the surface.

Protective oils

To ensure our products live a long and happy life, it’s important to use a food-safe mineral oil or beeswax to protect them. We provide our very own 100% organic beeswax with every purchase, and you can simply use a clean, dry cloth to apply a little to the entire product every so often. More is available to purchase on our website.

Please note that cooking oil is not a suitable substitute for mineral oils or beeswax.

Storing

It’s important to ensure our products are completely dry before they are stored, avoiding any extreme temperatures.
